Overview

Cooper/T. Smith de México is a joint venture between Cooper/T. Smith Stevedoring Company, Inc., and Grupo Mexicano de Desarrollo, S.A. Cooper/T. Smith de México owns and operates a private, two berth, 22.42 hectars (55.49 acres) Bulk and Breakbulk Terminal located in Altamira, Mexico approximately 15 miles north of Tampico on the Mexican Coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

Cooper de México has been in operations since January 1, 1998 concentrating in the handling, storage and re-handling of bulk and breakbulk cargo. The primary cargoes moving through the terminal have been iron ore, coal, pig iron, scrap iron, flouraspar, super sacks, steel products and various concentrates. The average production for the bulk material has been 10,000 tons per day. The equipment used includes two Clyde 24 and two Clyde 20 Duty Cycle cranes as well as various pieces of rolling stock and complete converyor systems. Also, with the use of our own tract mobile, Cooper México is capable of loading 50 plus railcars per day.

With the excellent rail and road service available to the Cooper de México terminal, we are able to service any area of the Country of México. Our rates are quoted on an all inclusive basis.
