The last of Cooper Marine and Timberlands’ new barges was launched and delivered in January. Built by Arcosa in Caruthersville, Missouri, this order consisted of 25 new covered barges, with the first delivered in November 2021. John Stokes, CMT’s Senior Vice President of Marine Operations, was on hand at Arcosa’s facility to launch this latest barge onto the river. Over the past two years, Arcosa has built a total of 45 new barges for Cooper Marine and Timberlands, strengthening the company’s fleet to more than 421 barges.
